La Notte del Gelato: A Grand Celebration of Artisanal Gelato

Francesco Procopio Cutò International Competition — Award Ceremony

Monday 16 November · 21:00–22:00

Teatro Politeama

La Notte del Gelato: A Grand Celebration of Artisanal Gelato Sherbeth culminates in La Notte del Gelato: on Monday, 16 November, Palermo’s Teatro Politeama Garibaldi will host the announcement of the winners of the Premio Procopio Cutò. A spectacular evening of music and dance will accompany the awards ceremony, celebrating the research, creativity and craftsmanship of master gelato makers. A setting where architectural beauty meets more than 150 years of Palermo’s performing arts history. Hosting the evening are Maddalena Fossati and Danilo Poggio, two professionals who combine gastronomic expertise with a talent for engaging audiences. Editor-in-Chief of La Cucina Italiana since 2017, Maddalena Fossati championed the initiative that led to Italian cuisine’s recognition as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, chairing its promoting committee. Her presence connects the celebration of gelato with a broader vision of food as culture and identity. A professional journalist, qualified wine taster and member of wine and gastronomy juries, Danilo Poggio has been sharing stories from the world of food and wine through radio, television and live events for over fifteen years. Together, they will guide the audience through the Festival’s most eagerly awaited moment, as the competing creations receive the juries’ verdict and their makers’ work is recognised. Advance booking is required. Admission is granted upon presentation of the ticket received when registering through the web app, subject to seat availability.
